I started working on an old project again tonight. It is my NaNo from a few years ago (never finished, didn’t win with it either). I loved the story but it had a major plot hole. Like, huge. And tonight I sought the help of a friend to talk it out. Because in re-reading the rough draft, I fell in love with the story and the characters all over again. Not to mention the fact that I still want to be a writer professionally. Well, you can’t be a writer if you haven’t written anything.
My friend and I worked out the plot hole.
Sometimes old projects are meant to be unfinished. But sometimes they are meant to be picked up again. Have you ever picked up an old project and started in on it again? How did it feel?
Edit: I had to add this in here. This is my fifth blog post. On the WordPress sidebar, there was a little achievement thing and a quote from Stephen King that is SO perfect for aspiring writers.
“The scariest moment is always just before you start. After that, things can only get better.”
– Stephen King
